The Leicester Square Theatre, a Victorian dance hall in a previous life, is located underground in a central location in the capital and has a secret magical feeling on descending into the auditorium, hidden and mysterious.
In March 2013 West End Magic had its first show show there, offering some of the top magic and variety acts of the day. Over 10 years later, it has now attained the title of London’s longest running theatre magic show and next Saturday marks its 13th year of shows (lucky for some!).
There’ll be magical pictures coming to life, skittish flying handkerchieves, manic stunts, mysterious floating balloons, Magic Circle champions, crazy comedy duos, mind-reading impossibilities and so much more!
The London show features a continuous selection of differing acts joining the show’s core cast and this has to be one of the best line ups we’ve ever had:
Dave Loosley is the current Magic Circle Close-up Magician of the Year, gaining the crown just a couple of months ago. I’m so chuffed to have him on the show, as I am for Taylor Morgan who will present one of the most beautiful magic acts I’ve seen, featuring a mysterious red balloon, and who will be representing the UK in this year’s FISM World Championships of Magic.
The show also features Jezo who is now part of the show’s main cast: the best way to describe him is with these three words, all beginning with ‘m’: manic, magic, mayhem! The Glamourists will present their unique type of fairytale magic, comprising of Vicky Butterfly and some magic bloke called Oliver Tabor, plus West End Magic’s finest compere Wayne Trice.
Our main act comes all the way from America, originally from the UK but now based in Detroit: Lady Sarah & Keith Fields. I’m so, so thrilled to have them on the show! Again, describing them in three words but this time not all beginning with ‘m’: Comedy, Magic, Legends.
It’s going to be epic! Can…not…wait!!
