What do they say about best laid plans? Last year I had intented to take the plunge and perform a one man show at the biggest arts festival in the world; the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. I’d even booked off the whole of August to make this dream come true.
However, mice and men had other plans and some big life changes put that plan on hold. Those big life events included a house move and a certain little person arriving – both very welcome distractions of course. As an alternative to Edinburgh, I performed the one man show a bit closer to home, at the Colchester Fringe festival at the end of the year.
Now we’re nearly halfway through 2026, it feels like the right time to take the plunge again. I’m very happy to announce that this August, I am taking the big step of performing my one man show ‘Magical Maestro’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2026.
The Marvels, Mystery and Melodies show will feature some of my favourite pieces of magic together with some new routines, performed to an eclectic soundtrack on a gramophone. Impossible happenings will include bubbles morphing into glass balls, music notes appearing out of thin air, musical predictions, and other magical curiosities inspired by the music – and magic, that shaped me.
I’m delighted to finally being able to debut my solo show at the fringe, and hoping not many mice get in the way this time.
